Baby stroller recall issued for Safety 1st Step and Go product

Stroller recall

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a safety recall for Dorel Juvenile’s Safety 1st strollers. The products go under the name of Safety 1st Step and Go Travel Systems.

The stroller tray folding mechanism can partially disengage on one side when used with an infant car seat attached to the stroller, posing a fall hazard.

There have been 30 reports of the front tray of the stroller disengaging on one side, according to the commission. However, there have not been any injuries reported.

The commission recommends that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact the company for a free repair kit by calling toll free at (866) 762-3036 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Eastern Time, Monday through Friday or on the company’s website.
