SAN DIEGO — San Diego police sought Thursday a man who forced his way into an Otay Mesa home, tackled and robbed the resident, then drove off in his car.
The suspect knocked on the front door to the 31-year-old victim’s residence on Churrituck Drive near Palm Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and pushed his way in when the victim answered, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The suspect tackled the victim and took his phone, jewelry, television and the keys to his 2002 BMW convertible. The robber drove off in the victim’s car, but apparently abandoned it shortly afterward on Pequena Street about a mile away, according to the officer.
Police described the suspect as a bald, heavyset Hispanic man in his 40s, about 6 feet tall and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
