Westview ranked one of America’s best high schools

SAN DIEGO — Poway Unified High School District’s Westview High School was among three public high schools in San Diego County to make Newsweek’s list of “America’s Top High Schools.”

The school in Torrey Highlands was ranked 83rd on the list.

Newsweek’s rankings use criteria such as graduation rates, test scores, dropout rates, enrollment in college courses during high school and the poverty rate in the school’s area.

Also making the list in San Diego County were Classical Academy High School in Escondido – ranked 136th – and River Valley Charter School in Lakeside -ranked 318th.

Topping the list was Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Va.
