Man suspected of shoplifting $700 worth of vitamins from Walgreens


ENCINITAS, Calif. – Police were looking for a man suspected of stealing nearly $700 worth of vitamins from a Walgreens in Encinitas.

The incident happened August 5 around 8:30 p.m. at the convenience store in the 1300 block of Encinitas Boulevard, according to a release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Surveillance video shows a man pacing the vitamin aisle and stuffing several cases of vitamins into the pockets of his cargo shorts. When he left the store without paying for the items, the security alarms in the front doors were triggered. The man walked out of the store as the cashier was helping another customer.

The man is described as approximately 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 300 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray shirt, tan cargo shorts and black and white Converse shoes.
