SAN CARLOS, Calif. — Firefighters responded Sunday afternoon to a report that two children were possibly trapped in a storm drain in the Lake Murray area.

Police said around 3:30 p.m., a woman called 911 saying she heard a child’s voice from inside the storm drain in the 8300 block of Beaver Lake Drive.

The rescue was called off after no children were found. Residents say children often play in the storm drains and likely ran off before firefighters arrived.
