BOCA RATON, Fla. – A 23-year-old woman in Florida was taken to the hospital on Sunday to be treated for a shark bite.

Oddly enough, the shark was still attached to her arm.

According to the Sun Sentinel, the 2-foot nurse shark latched onto her arm while she was swimming.

“I have never seen anything like it. Never even heard of anything like this,” said Ocean Rescue Capt. Clint Tracy.

Although the shark remained attached to her arm, it was dead by the time EMS arrived to the hospital.

A witness told the Sun Sentinel that he saw the girl and her friends antagonizing the shark before it bit her. She was “holding the shark by its tail. They were messing with it,” said Nate Pachter.

There is no word yet on how severe the woman’s injuries are.
