TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - A 7-year-old border collie has become a popular topic on the Internet because of the job he performs at the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City.

Piper has been a hit on Reddit and on media websites around the country. Piper's job at the airport is chasing birds off the runways, primarily geese, ducks and owls. He officially started working at the airport in January 2015, FOX 17 reported.

He's being called the "coolest dog ever" after a photo of him wearing goggles in front of a Coast Guard helicopter went viral this winter.  Four million people have clicked on the video of Piper.

Brian Edwards, the airport operations supervisor, adopted Piper back in 2012.

Piper is chronicled in photos and video on the Cherry Capital Airport Instagram pageand online here.
