SAN DIEGO – Defense attorneys for Steven Avery, the convicted murderer featured in the Netflix documentary series “Making a Murderer”, will be stopping in San Diego during their tour, it was announced Monday.

Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, Avery’s attorneys, announced the A Conversation on Justice Tour.  They’ll be speaking at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego on July 17.  Tickets go on sale March 4.

The duo will have a Q-and-A, discuss the Avery case and its broader implications, as well the American criminal justice system.

The tour kicks off April 16 in Boston at the Berklee Theater.

“Making a Murderer” was a hit for Netflix with its look at Avery’s prosecution in the 2005 death of a woman in Wisconsin’s rural Manitowoc County.
