SAN DIEGO – U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a previously deported convicted sex offender Tuesday at the El Centro station.
A 29-year-old man was arrested by agents approximately 5 miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry, after he attempted to illegally enter the U.S., according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. The man was later identified as Terry Orozco Vaca of Mexico.
Agents checked Orozco’s record revealing that he was convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor out of Santa Ana and was sentenced to 157 days in jail with 3 years probation, officials said. Orozco was previously removed from the United States on March 14, 2012.
In fiscal year 2015, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested eight convicted sex offenders attempting to re-enter the United States after being deported.
