SAN DIEGO — San Diego police sought Thursday a man who robbed a smoke shop in North Park with what police said could have been either a long pole or a shotgun.

The suspect walked into the SD Smoke Shop on El Cajon Boulevard near Iowa Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money from an employee, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said. He escaped with an unknown amount before officers arrived.

Police described the robber as black, around 26 years old, roughly 5 feet 8 and skinny. He was carrying a long pole or possible shotgun and was wearing a mustard yellow, brown and black flannel shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, dirty or faded black pants and had a green bandana covering his face.
