Cops use dog to collar burglary suspect

SAN DIEGO – A man was in jail Tuesday morning after trying to break into a home and then leading police on a foot chase, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police went to  Juniper Street just east of the Interstate 805 and Interstate 15 split around 5:30 a.m. to investigate a reported burglary.  When they arrived, a man ran from a home and tried to hide in some bushes near Hollywood Park.

Police sent a dog after the man, and it bit him while he was being subdued. Police arrested him at 5:50 a.m.
