SAN DIEGO – A bride and groom knew Sunday was a special day, but then they discovered President Barack Obama was steps away from their ceremony.

Stephanie and Brian chose The Lodge at Torrey Pines which overlooks the world renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course.  Leading up to their big day, the couple was not aware that it would coincide with Obama's visit to San Diego.

When the ceremony time came, the President was finishing his game at the 18th hole, which happened to be right in front of the ceremony site, according to the couple's photographers the Youngrens.  The bride and her family were seen pressed up against The Lodge's windows watching the president swing away.

After he finished it, the couple was allowed to walk up to Obama, who greeted them with hugs and a photo-op.

The couple's photographers The Youngrens expressed their delight on a blog.

"I definitely didn’t wake up this morning thinking THAT was going to happen today!”

One day after the wedding, Stephanie was still in shock.

"What a crazy wedding day memory for us!" the bride told FOX 5.

Obama left San Diego Monday afternoon following a day and a half of rest at the end of a West Coast swing.

The president spent Saturday night and Sunday relaxing with his family in Rancho Santa Fe, and found time for a round of golf Sunday at Torrey Pines and another trip to the links Monday at The Crosby Club.
