CUBA — Pope Francis landed Saturday afternoon in Cuba, the first stop in a two-nation trip that will also take him to the United States.

The Pope, who helped broker a restoration of diplomatic ties between Cuba and the United States, will be in the communist nation until midday on September 22, when he leaves for Washington.

In Cuba, Francis will celebrate public Masses, as well as meet with government officials and local bishops.
