SAN DIEGO – Cooler temperatures and rain are expected to move over San Diego County beginning Monday, FOX 5 weathercaster Chrissy Russo said.

Light showers could fall over some areas of the county as early as Monday morning, but more substantial rain is likely to hit areas of North County starting around 5 p.m., Russo said. Forecast models shows heavy showers falling over Chula Vista and downtown San Diego on Tuesday morning, Russo added.

By the time the weather system moves out of the region on Wednesday morning, most coastal areas will have received 0.5 inches or more of precipitation. Oceanside, Fallbrook and Palomar Mountain allcould get more than an inch of rain, Russo predicted.
