SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego writer is suing Conan O’Brien, claiming the talk show host has been stealing his jokes.

Alex Kaseberg says O’Brien stole his topical Twitter jokes four times, using them in his show's opening monologue.

The jokes involved Caitlyn Jenner, airport travel, Tom Brady and the Washington Monument.

Attorney Jayson Lorenzo released this statement on behalf of the plaintiff:

“Shortly thereafter, a third joke he authored was used on the show without Mr. Kaseberg's authorization. He again reached out to discuss the matter and was finally able to speak to a representative of  Mr. O'Brien's company. During that conversation, Mr. Kaseberg felt that he was ridiculed, dismissed and treated with scorn.”

"Conan" co-host Andy Richter fired back on Twitter:

No court date has been assigned yet.

My only question is why do we have to think that what we write out for the world to see is still our property. Maybe the guy should try to be one of Conan’s writers on an official payroll instead of just doing a free supply job or just quit supplying the Twitter screens the jokes.
