Motorcyclist seriously hurt in suspected DUI crash
IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. – A suspected drunken driver on a motorcycle crashed in Imperial Beach and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, a sheriff’s sergeant said Friday.
The rider lost control and crashed along eastbound Palm Avenue near Ninth Street about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Victor Rivera.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Deputies found the unconscious rider shortly after the crash and he was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center to be treated for life-threatening injuries, Rivera said.
Eastbound Palm Avenue was temporarily shut down after the crash.
