SAN DIEGO -- Comic-Con tickets may be nearly sold out, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the fun.

The Nerdist Conival activation on the second floor of Petco Park allows visitors to experience the excitement for free and without a badge.

“It's more of a hands-on experience. They had a great time with the games  and it’s not so much of a shopping experience,” said mother of two, Sandra Settle.

The activation is put on by Legendary Pictures, a media company responsible for big blockbusters like Jurassic World.

The company and its partners set up nearly 10 large-scale activations across 34,000 square feet of space.

The event includes interactive games, celebrity panels and even a laser tag arena.

Nerdist is considered one of the largest activations in downtown San Diego, outside the convention center.

It is free to the public and open from July 9 to 12, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
