1 killed in double shooting in Palm City

SAN DIEGO – San Diego police were investigating a shooting late Thursday night that left one man dead and another hurt in Palm City.

The men were shot around 11 p.m. on the 2600 block of Gould Lane. Police found the two, 25 and 22 years old, lying in the street on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital.

The 25-year-old victim died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 22-year-old remains in stable condition and was expected to survive, police said.

One of the men was standing at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Desty Street when the gunman walked up and started arguing with him, according to witnesses. A second man then walked up, at which point the gunman pulled out his weapon and shot them both before running off.

The shooter, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, was last seen wearing blue pants and a blue shirt. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
