SAN DIEGO – Ten years ago, the very first video uploaded to the website YouTube was shot at the San Diego Zoo.

The 18-second video, entitled “Me at the zoo,” featured one of YouTube’s co-founders standing in front of elephants.

He posted the video one month before YouTube publicly launched in May of 2005.

Within a year, YouTube was sold to Google for $1.5 billion.

Today, YouTube has more than 1 billion users with 300 hours of video uploaded every minute.
