SAN DIEGO – A fire that burned 15 vehicles at an Otay Mesa junkyard was under investigation Tuesday morning, police said.

The fire broke out at Julio’s Towing and Storage at Harvest Road and Otay Center Drive around 8:20 p.m. Monday.

San Diego Fire and Chula Vista Fire had the blaze out in about an hour. It caused around $35,000 in damage, fire officials said.

Investigators call the fire suspicious and were trying to determine if it was set intentionally.
