SAN DIEGO – The public is invited to celebrate the life of a Hodad’s owner Mike “Bossman” Hardin’s this weekend.

Just over a month after Hardin died, his friends and family will welcome the community to Petco Park “Park in the Park” Saturday for a free event paying tribute to him.  The celebration starts at 11:11 a.m. and will include a special video and live musical performances.

Hardin, 56, died of a heart attack in early February while in Chowchilla, Calif.

Hardin’s parents opened the original restaurant in Ocean Beach in 1969. He became a neighborhood fixture and was known as “Bossman,” which he had tattooed onto his knuckles.

Hodad’s added the downtown location on Broadway at 10th Avenue several years ago, and now runs a concession at Petco Park during the Padres season.
