SAN DIEGO – A high-speed police chase ended in Fallbrook with a fiery crash and two people under arrest Wednesday morning, police said.

The pursuit spanned south along the I-15 freeway from Riverside county into San Diego. The driver, who police believe was drunk, reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour during the chase.

The pursuit eventually came to an end around 12:55 a.m. as the driver slammed into a wall while getting off I-15 onto westbound SR-76. He and a passenger got out of the  car and ran from police, at which point the car went up in flames.

Both men were quickly caught and arrested. No one was hurt.
