POWAY, Calif.  – Investigators have yet to announce any suspects involved in the shooting death of man in Poway.

On Monday, San Diego Sheriff's Department homicide detectives were combing through evidence and talking to witnesses of a murder on Frame Road in Poway that occurred early Sunday morning.

Deputies found 43-year-old Chris Jewel dead in the backyard with a gunshot wound to his chest. Another man, identified as 44-year-old Seth Ladabouche, was also shot in the chest and treated for his non life-threatening injuries at Palomar Hospital.

Ladabouche was questioned by investigators after leaving the hospital, but has not been named a suspect.  Neighbor, Jim Reese, said Ladabouche is a veteran  who received a purple heart during combat. He's heard the gunshots just after one o'clock in the morning Sunday and called Sheriff's deputies.

"At first it sounded like somebody throwing brick in the window," said Reese, "but then I realized it was a gunshot."

Detectives told FOX 5 there were two women inside the house at the time of the shooting.  Their involvement – if any – has not been disclosed.

Jewel leaves behind a wife and two children.
