SAN DIEGO -- A collision between a city bus and a truck at a Midway-area intersection left two people trapped in the overturned pickup Thursday.
The crash occurred at Pacific Highway and Enterprise Street shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Emergency crews had to cut the roof off the truck to free the man and woman inside, SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson said. The extent of the pair's injuries was not immediately clear, though they were conscious and communicative during the rescue, he said.
Three of the roughly 12 passengers in the bus suffered minor injuries. Ambulances took all five patients to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest.
The accident left the road crossing blocked for about an hour, Swanson said.
