SAN DIEGO – A man was fighting for his life Tuesday after being rescued from a burning mobile home in Pine Valley Tuesday morning, Calfire said.

Firefighters responded to a call of a shed on fire around 1:21 a.m.  When crews arrived, the mobile home fully engulfed in flames. They quickly attacked the fire and searched the home, finding an unconscious man inside.

Firefighters performed CPR on the man while waiting for a helicopter ambulance. The victim suffered serious burns on his body and was airlifted to the hospital. No one else was home when the fire started.

Crews prevented the flames from spreading to nearby structures. The San Diego Sheriff’s Department Bomb/Arson team were trying to determine how the fire started.

You have this very wrong. He was not burned at all. He suffered from lack of oxygen leading to carbon dioxide poisoning and swelling of the brain. And someone else was with him at the time.
