SAN DIEGO, Calif – Gusty Santa Ana winds are expected in the valley and mountain areas of San Diego County Monday night.

A wind advisory will be in effect in valley and mountain areas from 10 p.m. Monday evening to 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. A high wind watch scheduled for the entire county tonight was canceled shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are possible, with isolated gusts of nearly 60 miles per hour in more wind-prone areas, like the Cuyamaca Mountains.

Residents and travelers are encouraged to watch for broken tree limbs and debris on roadways.
