Decomposed body found in North County creek bed

OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Police were investigating the discovered of human remains in a creek bed in North County Monday.

A homeless person found a badly decomposed body at 7:30 a.m. in Loma Alta Creek, southwest of Oceanside Boulevard.

Due to the condition of the remains, detectives were unable to determine the gender, Oceanside police said.

Their initial investigation led them to believe it was homeless person who died as long as a year ago of natural causes.
