SAN DIEGO — An electrical fire at an Egger Highlands neighborhood home left six people displaced and caused around $400,000 in damage, fire officials said Friday.
The fire at the single-story home at 1868 Elm Ave. was reported around 11:45 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson.
Crews had the fire knocked down around midnight, and a child was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, Swanson said.
The fire left five adults and the child in need of temporary housing, and caused about $300,000 in damage to the property and $100,000 in damage to its contents, Swanson said.
