SAN DIEGO – Federal agents arrested a married couple in San Diego accused of crimes involving child pornography.

Jonathan Gastelum was taken into custody on Tuesday for distributing child pornography, according to court documents.  He pleaded not guilty to the charge in federal court on Wednesday.

His 32-year-old estranged wife, Jennifer R. Gastelum, faces felony charges of child exploitation, child cruelty involving injury and distributing harmful matter to a minor.

She’s being held on $100,000 bail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Friday.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force went undercover in mid-September and an investigation led them to the husband and wife, UT-San Diego reported.

The husband sent the undercover agent photos depicting children doing sexual acts, then asked the agent if he had movies of children “in pain,” according to the newspaper.

A picture of a naked toddler tied to a bed with duct tape over her mouth was sent to the agent about two weeks later, UT-San Diego reported.
