SDSU student hospitalized after alleged sexual assault

SAN DIEGO - A San Diego State University student was reported sexually assaults on campus, a campus police sergeant said.

The victim was sexually assaulted by another student in a resident’s hall around 5 p.m. Saturday, according to SDSU police Capt. Joshua Mays.

SDSU police were called at 6 p.m. Saturday to Sharp Grossmont Hospital to take the report from the student, Sgt. Ronald Broussard said.

No other details were released about the incident, including the identity of the suspect.

The incident remains under investigation.

    As a San Diego State Student, I am very disappointed with our police department in the area. Instead of tackling real crime, like rape, robbery, and assault, they are focusing their efforts on people who ride skateboards, people who visit Adobe Falls, and other trivial issues that bring them in a large amount of revenue. Ask any San Diego State Student what you thing SDSU PD’s priorities are – most will tell you that they are NOT focused on real crime, but petty issues like skateboarders or underage drinking.
