Mother arrested in Oceanside toddler’s death

OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Officers have made an arrest for the murder of a 22 month-old toddler killed in the 300 block of Woodpark Way near Fireside Street at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Oceanside Police detectives arrested Veronica Rivas, the mother of the child.  Rivas was taken into custody at Tri City Medical Center after confessing to drowning her son.  Officers booked her for murder with additional charges pending.

      Selfish evil sad excuse for a woman! ! There is always family that would have loved to taken custody of that beautiful angel. Rot in hell

        You’re very quick to judge, Lisa. There aren’t enough details in this article to indicate whether this was an accident. Josie already said she “looked like a good mom”. So she “confessed”. Maybe she grieved and just said that out of guilt. Pretty sure this was the same lady who was found unconscious in her apartment. Why was she unconscious? Who found her? Point is … there’s not enough details to really ferret out the truth.
