Encinitas all-stars lose 8-4 at West Regional tournament

ENCINITAS, Calif. — The Encinitas Little League all-star team lost 8-4 Wednesday to the all-star team from the Mountain Ridge Little League of Las Vegas in the West Regional tournament in San Bernardino.

Encinitas Little League vs Las VegasEncinitas, which still qualified for Friday’s semifinals, led 3-2 going into the fourth inning, but Mountain Ridge scored four runs to take the lead for good.

Encinitas wrapped up pool play with a 2-2 record, while Mountain Ridge finished 4-0.

The all-star team from the Honolulu Little League also completed pool play with a 4-0 record, including a 9-2 victory over Encinitas on Saturday.

The first of Friday’s two semifinals will match the second- and third- place teams from pool play and the second will be between the first- and fourth- place teams.

The semifinal winners will play for the championship on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the Little League World Series, which is played in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

    Good luck Encinitas! Keep the US LL title in So Cal where it belongs! Based on the outcome of previous games Honolulu is going to be tough to beat. Hopefully Encinitas didn't have their ACE going against Honolulu when they lost to them 9-2.
