Car driver arrested after crash injures motorcyclist

duiSAN DIEGO — A 24-year-old woman was facing a drunken driving charge Monday in connection with a crash in Tierrasanta that left a man with a serious leg injury, police said.

The 26-year-old rider of a Triumph motorcycle was headed west on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at Santo Road at a high rate of speed shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday when the driver of a Honda pulled into the roadway, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The motorcyclist struck the car and sustained an open fracture to his leg, Delimitros said.

The car’s driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, Delimitros said.
