Maybe it’s just me that doesn’t understand but why were songs from The Beatles, a group from England, thrown into the music mix during the Big Bay Boom 2014 fireworks show? It’s all about the USA today so I didn’t get it?
I watched on TV; was that music mix played live too?
Nothing against the group- I’ve always liked their music but I did find it odd.

I felt the same way (I'm a dual national Brit/American) and thought it odd. I voiced this and my son piped up that the Star Spangled Banner was written at Fort McHenry by an American, but was set to the music of an English song.
