Snake found in bag of bicyclist hit by car

TORRANCE, Calif. – Paramedics came across a 3-foot snake in the shoulder bag of a bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle Monday evening.

The paramedics were gathering the injured bicyclist’s items when they found the reptile that appeared to be a ball python inside the bag, KTLA-TV reported.

Los Angeles police Sgt. Jeremy Duncan said the snake was “well-behaved.” LA County animal control officers took the snake, according to KTLA-TV.

The unidentified bicyclist was hit near 226th Street and Western Avenue just before 9 p.m. and hospitalized with broken ribs and collarbone.

The cause of the collision was under investigation.
