SDSU student wakes to find burglar in her apartment

SDSU CrimeSAN DIEGO — A San Diego State student awoke to find a man rummaging through her apartment near campus early Wednesday, police said.

The burglary on Montezuma Road was reported at 3:49 a.m., said San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick.

The student screamed — awakening her roommates — and the man fled with an iPhone and wallet, Battrick said.

The burglar was described as a black man in his early 20s, around 5 feet 5, last seen wearing a black shirt and dark shorts.
