SABRE SPRINGS CRASHSAN DIEGO — San Diego police today searched for a man who fled the scene after crashing into a fellow motorist in Sabre Springs, leaving the other driver with several broken bones.

The hit-and-run crash in the 11000 block of Poway Road was reported at 9:12 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

A 55-year-old woman driving a Ford Taurus southbound on Sabre Springs Parkway was struck in the intersection by a man driving a dark colored Chrysler 300 eastbound on Poway Road, he said in a statement.

The woman sustained broken ribs and a broken hip but was expected to survive, according to the officer.

Police later located the Chrysler several miles away after the crash but not the man, who Delimitros said was believed to have a beard.

Another in the epidemic of hit and run "accidents". The article mistakenly referred to the perp. as a "man". I've got a few terms to describe him but "man" isn't one of them. Coward would be one of the few words I could use here. Hope he's found and taken off the streets soon. No doubt he was committing a crime (e.g. DUI) or wanted for a crime (e.g. warrants). In any case, he's a criminal now.
