Elementary school locked down during police search

Edison Elementary SchoolSAN DIEGO — School officials briefly locked down a San Diego elementary school Wednesday while police searched the surrounding neighborhood for a parolee, officials said.

Students were kept inside classrooms at Edison Elementary school at 4077 35th Street in the City Heights are for a short time, school officials confirmed. The lock-down was lifted shortly before 11 a.m.

Police confirmed that they took someone into custody in the area, but they did not immediately release any details about the detainee.
