Missing man with down syndrome found

ahngerSAN DIEGO – A man who was reported missing Wednesday was found unharmed, police said Thursday.

Charles Ahnger, 49, was on a day trip with his social worker and a group of dependent adults. The group lost track of him around 1:30 in the afternoon.

Ahnger has down syndrome, limited communications abilities and early onset on dementia. He was last seen wearing a blue windbreaker, jeans and white shoes. He also has a non-removable bracelet with emergency contact information. Police describe Angher as a white male, 5’0, 188 pounds with blond hair, and brown eyes.

A family member called police Thursday morning to report that he had been found and he was OK. Police did not say where he was found.
