SDPD officer under investigation for sexual misconduct

SAN DIEGO — A married San Diego police officer with two young children is under investigation for allegedly inappropriately touching four different women while on duty, sources told Fox 5.

The investigation centers on  Officer Christopher Hays, DA spokesman Steve Walker told Fox 5. He would not say why Hays was being investigated, but sources familiar with the investigation said that Hays is accused of sexual battery.

San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne confirmed to Fox 5 that a San Diego police officer is under investigation for allegations of sexual misconduct, but he would not name the officer. Landsdowne said the officer was accused by four different women of touching them in a way that made them very uncomfortable during search pat-downs.

The chief said the officer in question has been placed on paid leave pending the results of an internal investigation. The case was also forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for possible criminal prosecution in mid-January, Lansdowne said.

According to a profile published in Oct. 2012 in 92127 Magazine, Hays graduated from the San Diego Police Academy in 2010. He lives in Rancho Bernardo with his wife and two young sons. His father-in-law is SDPD Capt. Mark Jones, the commander of the department’s Central Division.

Hays is a former Marine, who served in Iraq and South Korea.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't a male police officer have to request a female officer to pat-down search a female suspect or detainee? Time to put body cameras on your officers SDPD.

If a female is in the area use one, if not use the back of the hand normally or have a second male officer present

they are ALL guilty of OBSTRUCTION OF EVIDENCE, PRETEXT STOPS, SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, KIDNAPPING, PRISON RAPES, FRAMING INNOCENT PEOPLE, TAMPERING VIDEO FOOTAGE, MISINFORMING THE PUBLIC, CONCEALING EVIDENCE, AND THE LIST GOES ON!!!!!!!! INTERNAL AFFAIRS ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB!!! THE FEDERAL BUREAU NEEDS TO COME REGULATE THESE PERPETRATORS NOT JUST A SLAP IN THE HAND BUT TO SERVE THEM WITH MAXIMUM SENTENCE!!

Perhaps not all cops are bad but they know the D.A.'s are. It's the cop's job to get you delivered to the D.A. . It's the D.A.'s job is to get you to panic about your case and spend all your money fighting it. They don't care where it comes from, it's fine if your family puts their life savings do defend their loved ones. They don't have to be right, as long as they can hold you hostage in their jail they have you. The cops just begin that process.

If you know anything about the San Diego PD, you expect this. Insanely corrupt and this needs to be dealt with ASAP. I'd vote for whichever mayoral candidate promised a full investigation into their tactics.

First of all, yea, maybe "not" all cops are bad but even those who are will give the rest a bad name and for the record yea there might be a lot of good one's out there but they all witnessed misconduct and take the initiative to remain SILENT about it so guess what!? therefore THEY ARE ALL GUILTY!!!! YOU IDIOT!!!
