Driver hospitalized in SR-163 hit-run crash

SAN DIEGO – A speeding vehicle clipped another car causing it to flip several times on state Route 163 Wednesday night, authorities said.

CHP CarsSan Diego police and the California Highway Patrol shut down SR-163 just north of Friars Road around 10 p.m. to investigate the rollover crash.

The driver of the car that rolled over slammed into the center divider managed to walk away from the crash and waited for police to arrive, CHP said. He was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the speeding vehicle continued southbound, not stopping at the scene, CHP said. There is no description of the hit and run vehicle.
