Body in car is brother, fiancé of Christmas Eve murder victims

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A body found in the trunk of a car in Riverside last week is the brother and fiancé of two people killed on Christmas Eve at the Westfield Mission Valley mall, according to investigators said Thursday.

Salvatore Belvedere (l), Gianni Belevedere (m) and Ilona Flint (r)

The body is that of 24-year-old Gianni Leonardo Belvedere was found Jan. 17 in the trunk of his car, according to the Riverside County Coroner. Belvedere, a resident of Tierrasanta, was the victim of a homicide, coroner’s investigators determined.

Investigators had been looking for Belvedere and his dark-green 2004 Toyota Camry with Utah license plates since the Tierrasanta resident’s younger brother and fiancee were found shot to death at Westfield Mission Valley mall early Dec. 24.

San Diego police did not name Belvedere as a suspect in the killings of Salvatore Belvedere and Ilona Flint, both 22, but listed him as a missing person at risk.

About 1:15 a.m. Dec. 24, police found Flint and Salvatore Belvedere fatally shot in a car near a Christmas tree lot at the Camino del Rio North mall, which was open late for last-minute shoppers, according to homicide Lt. Mike Hastings. Both were shot in the head.

Flint, who managed to make a 911 call after being shot, died moments later. Salvatore Belvedere died in a hospital several days later.

The last known sighting of the older brother was in Mission Valley about three hours before the shootings at the mall, authorities said. A relative said Gianni Belvedere went to the mall with the victims the night of the shooting, though police disputed that.

Riverside Coroner is good!!! Where else can you find an official document from the coroner's office listing the official age of 24 before an autopsy is performed? Must of gotten it off the drivers license.

I don't understand what's going on here at all. This gave no info. Am I the only one lost?

What's going on is that there is little or no information as to what is going on, but information is coming out and getting sensational headlines like it should mean something. From the above, a body was found in a car trunk in Riverside County somewhere. (That's why the Riverside coroner had the body.) We don't know when the body was found, or where, because whoever wrote this didn't bother to tell us. The body is related to shooting victims on Christmas Eve at Mission Valley Shopping Center.
That's what we know. Why we know it is unclear, as I'm sure there are other homicides to report. This is just the one getting sensationalized today.

Yeah I remembered hearing about the shootings. But then never heard about a body found in a car? I don't know why I still pay attention to this news channel. So many holes and questions, it's frustrating

On Jan. 20, ABC News reported that the missing Gianni Belvedere’s green Camry was found this weekend “about 100 miles away with a man’s body inside the trunk.”

Although Gianni Belvedere’s disappearance was deemed suspicious, he was not named as a suspect in the murders of his fiancé and younger brother.

How exactly was this a suicide, genius? He killed himself and then put his body in the trunk, duh?
