Charger fans beat up Broncos fan at rally

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – Video surfaced on the Internet Sunday showing San Diego Charger fans punching and stomping a Denver Broncos fan in National City.

A rally in National City to celebrate the Chargers season was interrupted by a fist fight between a lone Broncos fan and three Charger fans.

National City police jumped on the attackers and arrested three Chargers fans and a Broncos fan.  It was unknown if anyone in custody was hospitalized after the fight.

Police were investigating the incident to determine who instigated the fight.

A photojournalist with a San Diego TV station was bit or nipped by a police dog during the commotion. He was treated for minor injuries and continued to take video of the rally.

The event continued after the arrests, as Chargers fans look forward to next season.

Fans Fight

The Broncos held off the Chargers late rally to win Sunday’s playoff game 24-17 at Mile High Stadium.  Their season continues next Sunday when they play the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship Game.

who would be surprised by a fight breaking out in National City by Mexican Charger fans? Not me, I'm only surprised the Mayor was OK with a celebration party and not expect a shooting or stabbing to happen after all those Mexican fans had been drinking all day. Not a celebration but an angry crowd of drunks take it out on one Bronco fan,SURPRISE!!!!!!!

I am not an evil woman, I just say things like they are. Check all the arrests that happen at Charger and Raider games. Check the arrest reports that happen in Chula Vista, National City, El Cajon and cities in south San Diego. Check the court reports of who stabbed who or who beat up who at any football or sports game . Drinking makes all these things happen and some guys can't handle the effect booze has on them. You are right about one thing though, YES, I am a racist now because of all this.

That guy got what he deserved. He went there looking for trouble and he found it. Even when the Chargers are winning you wouldn't catch me down there. How would you like it if I went to your house while your family is celebrating and start calling your mom a b****? You gonna stand there and turn your cheek and let me continue? Or throw me out of your house? That guy could have went anywhere but he chose Highland Avenue in National City. I don't feel sorry for him at all.

Yes, football is a rough sport, but does that mean if you're NOT a "Bandwagon" Charger Fan, you cannot root for your own team without getting beat up?????? Then I guess you're no better than those hoodlums up in Oakland………………….and who cares who (white, black, mexican, chinese, martians, etc) beat up the Denver fan, you're a thug!

Ignorance is a scarey thing. Fighting for a Professional Team of any kind is ignorant. Why can’t people just sit back and enjoy the specticle without letting it get to them personally. The Chargers are never going to do anything that will add to the quality of my life.

Why would a Denver fan show up at a Charger rally? Not one of his better ideas. Getting the last laugh isn't worth an ass kickin', not to me at least. He's lucky the cops were there to save him.

By the looks of the guy, I'd venture to say he hasn't made too many "better ideas" in general.

Sound like a lawsuit to me. Was there a permit to hold these rallies? Did the Mayor encourage a rally with no permit. Sue the city and mayor.
