Wal-Mart Kicks Off Christmas Way Early, Helping to Kill Black FridayEL CAJON, Calif  – The El Cajon Police Department was scheduled to open a temporary storefront inside the East County city’s Parkway Plaza Mall Friday.

The so-called holiday storefront will serve as a place for shoppers to learn more about the police department’s history and its programs, according to city officials. This year marks the seventh consecutive year the department has opened a holiday storefront in the mall.

“(It) is a great opportunity to talk with officers, see some great law enforcement displays, photographs and pick up some great safety materials for you and your family,” city spokeswoman Monica Zech said in statement. “This storefront provides a greater connection with the public and enhances police presence in the mall.”

The storefront is located near the mall’s carousel and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Dec. 31, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the storefront will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., respectively. It will be closed on Christmas Day.
