boy¬†crimeSAN DIEGO — A toddler found wandering in an Ocean Beach roadway was taken to an emergency children’s shelter while officers searched for her parent, a police officer said today.

The little girl in a blue dress was spotted about 11 p.m. Thursday in the middle of Pescadero Avenue near Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said.

Responding officers checked the area for the toddler’s parents, but were not immediately able to find them, so the girl was taken to the Polinsky Children’s Center in Kearny Mesa, Cali said.

Around 2:30 a.m. the girl’s mother called police to report her missing, Cali said.

As of about 5 a.m., the toddler remained in the care of the Polinsky Children’s Center, Cali said.

If anybody wondered what to be thankful for on Thanksgiving…..Be thankful this child is safe and no longer in the custody of that poor excuse for a parent.

Maybe the toddler sleep walks. Everyones always so quick to blame without details. My neighbors dauther walked right into my house one night at about midnight and didnt even know. Luckily we were awake and her dad heard the door slam and was up looking for her.

I would hope that if the parents knew this was a problem they would install additional locks on the doors and lock up any hazardous things in the home before going to bed.

They are still responsible and need to take precautions. Baby monitors and locks and child proofing f products are sold for a reason. These parents don't get a pass!
