typingSAN DIEGO – If you don’t like battling the crowds, but still want to catch the good deals, Cyber Monday may be your best option.

The annual online shopping day offers many great discounts, but you need to do your research before clicking purchase.

The National Retail Federation said eight in ten retailers will offer special Cyber Monday discounts.

Bargain hunting experts suggest using online databases and deal websites to find the best discounts. Sites like savings.com and pricegrabber.com pull coupons and deals from multiple retailers. CyberMonday.com has also compiled information about the best bargains being offered.

If you want to get a jump-start on your online shopping, many retailers are offering Black Friday deals now. On the other hand, if you wait until after Cyber Monday, discounts could stick around.

“Last year the days Cyber Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday were all over a billion dollars online,” said Vicki Cantrell, Shop.org Executive Director.

Some experts say waiting until Mid-December can score you major discounts with retailers trying to clear out inventory.

Also annual free shipping day is scheduled for December 18. Hundreds of retailers will participate and guarantee delivery by Christmas.
