The woman had been reported missing from her Maywood home on Nov. 15 by family members, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Department investigators found the woman’s body Tuesday evening in a remote area near Alpine, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Officials said Jorge Rodriguez, 53, allegedly killed his mother at a home in the 5300 block of East 57th Street in Maywood.

He was being held at the East Los Angeles sheriff’s station in lieu of $3-million bail.

The cause of death is being investigated by the San Diego County coroner’s office.

It takes a special kind of "son" to murder the woman that gave him life. And then…attempt to get away with the crime. What a pathetic loser!
