Phone thieves attack SDSU student

SAN DIEGO – A San Diego State University student was beaten and robbed of his cellphone in an alley on the campus early Sunday, university police said.

SDSU CrimeA group of college-age men approached the victim as he was walking with another student in an alley behind the 5100 block of College Avenue about 1:40 a.m., according to campus police officials.

The suspects battered the victim, took his phone then ran off, authorities said. The victim sustained minor injuries.

One of the suspects was described as having a dark complexion, standing around 6-feet, 3-inches, and wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. Descriptions of the other suspects were not available.
