genericSAN DIEGO – The San Diego Chargers took their fans on an emotional roller coaster after losing their lead against the Houston Texans Monday night.

Charger fans, who were encouraged to wear white, were out of their seats during most of the Monday Night Football game and out of control with excitement and later – disappointment.

Nearly 15 seconds into the game and the Chargers intercepted the ball and scored a touchdown on the next play.  The fans went crazy.

Philip Rivers went on to throw three more touchdown passes to boost new head coach Mike McCoy’s start.

The Texans charged back late in the third quarter.

It wasn’t until Brian Cushing intercepted Rivers pass and returned it to tie the football game at 28-28 in the fourth quarter.

Randy Bullock kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired ending the Monday Night Football game with a 31-28 score.

“It’s an indicator of how the season is going to go,” said Chargers fan Amit Sangani. “We have a hard season ahead of us.”

“Hopefully we make it the playoffs and make a run for the Super Bowl,” said Sangani. “I’m a firm believer in the team atmosphere they’ve created this year with the new coach. I think that they’re going to bounce back no matter which way it shifts.”
