SAN DIEGO – As Mayor Bob Filner remained out of the public eye over the last week, so did the co-sponsor of the burgeoning drive to recall him — if unwillingly.
Michael Pallamary, one of the leaders of efforts to oust Filner from office over allegations of sexual harassment and other improprieties, has been recovering from a traffic accident for the past six days, U-T San Diego reported.
Pallamary’s car was rear-ended Monday morning at a stoplight on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, according to the newspaper. He was treated at a hospital before going home to continue his recuperation.
“I am actively working on the recall from home and looking forward to gathering signatures,” he said.
Filner, for his part, has been taking part in a voluntary behavioral- therapy program at an undisclosed location over the last two weeks.
